The Avenue is a retail development in the heart of Bournemouth, the property was last renovated in the late 1980s and new owners wanted to completely transform the building, to create an exciting retail led destinations with an extensive refurbishment, modernisation and upgrade of the existing property.
Bennington Green were appointed as Project Manager and Principal Designer roles for this £2m project which included a visual overhaul of the front façade to incorporate contemporary Corten steel, a living green wall, and bring out previously hidden stonework, dramatically enhancing the look of the building. There was also a modern art installation and high-grade office fit outs completed internally, additionally, the fabric and structure was upgraded including roof coverings, windows and doors, lift replacements and retail unit fit-outs. Bennington Green undertook various elements including the overseeing and co-ordination of the design team, the production of a full specification and work schedules for tendering purposes, as well as the day-to-day project management on behalf of the client team.
