Having completed a Masters degree in Building Surveying at the University College of Estate Management (UCEM), Danielle joined the Bennington Green team in 2019 as a Graduate Building Surveyor. She now works alongside Oliver Gristwood (MRICS), undertaking a variety of instructions including Project Management, Defect Analysis and Maintenance Plans. Danielle is now working towards achieving Chartered status through the RICS.
Danielle has always had a keen interest in the built environment and prior to joining the team, she spent over 5 years working for one of the leading Estate Agents in the Isle of Purbeck, handling property sales from instruction through to completion.
Danielle is a professional and approachable individual who enjoys meeting new people from all industries.
Harriet is a practicing Barrister of 20 years call. She began her career in private practice at the criminal Bar, she moved in-house and have spent over 15 years advising and representing a variety of clients in construction and engineering, energy and utilities on the full breadth of transactional and contentious matters.
Harriet’s clients in the construction sector include employer and contractor organisations in the residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. When the need arises, she has represented numerous clients in all forums of ADR including mediation and conciliation. Harriet has represented clients in over 250 adjudications and 3 arbitrations.
Andrew is a Chartered Building Surveyor and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has an OND and HND in Building and a BSc degree in Building Surveying.
Andrew has worked as a building surveyor for The National Trust covering West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Uppark House was a major project he was involved in after a serious fire in 1989 along with responsibility for other major historic and listed buildings within the region which included Clandon, Polesden Lacey, Standen, Ham House and the Neddles Battery. He continued his involvement in estate portfolios in Bedfordshire for the Whitbread family at Southill Park Estate.
More recently whilst working for The Crown Estate Windsor as Surveyor of Works he projects managed the building of a £6million visitor centre which received a nomination for the Sterling Award. He also was responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of multiple statues and structures including the very famous Copper Horse and implemented a biomass facility to service 70 mixed use properties. He joined Mursell & Company (Newbury) Ltd in 2017. Mursell & Company was acquired by Bennington Green in 2020.
Persia joined Bennington Green as a Business Administration Apprentice in November 2019. She is working towards her Level 2 in Business Administration. The experience in the workplace complements the range of topics in her course, whilst expanding her wider business administration knowledge.
During this time, she has been developing a range of skills including, organisation, administration, IT, and managing files and data.
Persia decided to start as a Business Administration Apprentice as she feels it is a great starting point for her career. She is passionate about being an apprentice at Bennington Green and expanding her growth in the company.
Michael is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Michael has spent his entire career in private practice. Michael was Senior Partner in the King and Evans Partnership and, following a merger with Mursell & Company (Newbury) Limited, he became their Principal Quantity Surveyor.
Michael is very experienced in quantity surveying, including preliminary cost advice, advice on contractual methods, contracts and contractor selection, preparing tender documents, obtaining and negotiating tenders, cost planning, valuing construction work, administration of measured term contracts, preparing and agreeing accounts with contractors, technical auditing, assessing replacement value for insurance and with project coordination.
Michael is also experienced in dispute resolution and has also participated in alternative dispute resolution procedures, including adjudication and mediation.
Mursell & Company was acquired by Bennington Green in 2020.
Colin is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Fellow of the RICS. After graduating from Reading University he worked for the Property Services Agency, and then private practice in Bournemouth, Reading and Newbury. For nearly 25 years he has been Senior Building Surveyor with Mursell & Company in Thatcham. He provides the full range of building surveying professional services, including surveys, defect analysis, dilapidations, “neighbourly” disputes and boundary disputes.
His particular interest is party wall matters and is a member of the P & T. He acts for both Building Owners and Adjoining Owners, and in situations where the act has not been followed. He has appeared as expert witness in relation to negligent surveys, disputes with contractors, party wall matters and boundary disputes.
Mursell & Company was acquired by Bennington Green in 2020.
Ryan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and he is also an Incorporate member of the Chartered Institute of Building. Ryan has a Masters Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and has a particular interest in delay analysis and commercial recovery.
Ryan has spent a number of years working for Main Contractors undertaking various Civil Engineering and Building contracts.
Ryan joined Bennington Green in 2010 to provide support to the project management, building surveying and commercial divisions and to promote and deliver the commercial and dispute resolution offering.
Ryan has undertaken various senior level assignments where he has proven invaluable to his clients leading the procurement, commercial and contractual processes of projects including pre and post construction activities.
Damon Green founded Bennington Green Associates in 1992. He is a Chartered Building Surveyor being a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors holding a Bachelor of Science degree in building surveying.
Damon has been in private firms of chartered building surveyors since graduating in 1984 and became an associate in his former practice in 1990 and Director of Bennington Green associates Ltd in 1992 having twenty six years experience as a qualified Chartered Building Surveyor.
He has served on the Wessex Branch ABE Committee since 1988, being appointed Chairman between 1990 and 1992 and continues to practice as a Consultant Chartered Building Surveyor for Bennington Green.
Fire Protection Clerk of Works Billy Innes has been delivering and developing bespoke services to residential developers in London for the last two years being at the forefront of the construction industry’s ‘raising the bar’ drive. Developing working relationships whilst improving quality standards and ensuring buildings are built correctly with regards to fire safety is Billy’s forte.
Billy has worked in other sectors including HM Forces and the oil & gas industry, holding an array of positions from management, team leading to consultancy. He uses this experience in his current role bringing innovative fresh thinking approaches aiding our clients in building safe high quality projects.
Keith is a well-respected figure with over 35 years’ experience in the building and civil engineering industries. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Institution of Arbitrators and the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors as well as a Member of the Institute of Highways and Transportation and the Institute of Directors.
Keith started his career with John Laing, one of the UK’s largest contractors and has since worked with contractors, subcontractors and clients as a consultant. He founded Schofield Lothian in 1986 and developed it into a £14million turnover company, making it one of the top 10 UK Quantity Surveying Companies prior to selling it to Accord PLC in 2002. Keith has knowledge of all areas of construction and has lectured on a variety of topics around the world. He has a proven track record of success and is an experienced businessman, negotiator, mediator, arbitrator, adjudicator and expert.
Harry joined the team in 2018 after completing a Masters degree in Building Surveying at the University College of Estate Management. Since starting at Bennington green he has been working towards his APC to achieve Chartered status with RICS.
Harry undertakes surveys of residential and commercial properties for the production of Building Surveys, Schedules of Condition, Insurance Reinstatement Cost Assessments and Planned Maintenance Schedules. Harry has an eye for detail, with a particular interest in defect analysis and rectification work. He is client-focussed and enjoys undertaking design and specification work for planning applications and residential construction projects.
Rebecca joined Bennington Green in April 2019 overseeing all the administrative functions in the office as Office Administrator. Delivering outstanding customer service has always been an essential part of a day’s work for Rebecca. She is responsible for managing all aspects of coordinating office activities, client enquires and contractors and is the friendly face who welcomes our visitors.
She brings over 20 years’ experience as an administrative professional. Her varied background in multiple organisations provides a perfect foundation for providing vital administrative support to the team so they can focus on working with their clients. She also ensures the office has the necessary supplies and equipment needed to run smoothly and efficiently.
Much of his career has been spent working for large international contractors and consultants both in the UK and overseas. Nigel’s area of specialism is project management, Party Wall and landlord/tenant disputes.
Having previously held board level positions both within the construction and manufacturing sectors Nigel brings significant strategic experience and leadership skills to the direction and management of the business.
With a strong focus on customer service and a proactive approach to business development, Nigel along with his business partners has developed a clear vision for the future successful growth of the company both in the UK and internationally.
Victoria joined Bennington Green in 2014 and is one of the Directors at Bennington Green. She ensures that the business run seamlessly and efficiently to enable the team to deliver an exceptional service to our clients.
Victoria is responsible for the day to day management of the business and has been the key driver for many of the businesses new systems including its bespoke Business Management System, implementation and integration of Xero and the document management system.
She has a passion for delivering a first-class service to our clients and thrives on continuously improving our operations and staff development.
Victoria is a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute and brings a commercial drive to the business with a solution focused approach.
Having completed his sandwich placement with Bennington Green in 2007, Jack returned to the firm in 2019 after relocating from London, where he spent 10 years working as a building surveyor and gained his chartered membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
His experience spans a number of different sectors and roles, from which he has developed a broad knowledge of both construction and the wider industry, allowing him to adapt to the varied role of a building surveyor.
Jack’s experience includes both traditional building surveying activities and project management, which he has provided to a varied range of public and private sector clients.
At Bennington Green, Jack operates as a chartered building surveyor within the team, responsible for delivering professional services to our clients and overseeing the development of junior team members.
Geraint is a graduate surveyor working towards full RICS membership through the APC scheme.
Having obtained a first-class honours degree in Building Surveying at the University of the West of England, Geraint started at his Building Surveying career at Mursell & Company early in 2014.
Geraint works on a broad range of development projects and his work experience includes Architectural design concepts; obtaining planning consents, and building regulations approvals, for both his own designs and those of others; and more recently has overseen the completion of an extended and fully refurbished local historic art chapel.
Having an interest in the historic built environment, Geraint has enjoyed working with Listed Buildings of all grades. This is of course supplemented with more traditional Building Surveying roles, including inspections and surveys.
