Baltic Quay is an eight storey residential apartment block with a taller 15-storey tower block at the South East corner rising to a roof height of approx. 50m above ground level, in total the development offers 163 units. The elevations were originally clad in a combination of PPC painted metal rainscreen cladding and concrete tile/brick slips with inner blockwork infills to exposed expressed concrete frame structures, which a Fire Consultant report deemed necessary to replace the aluminium PPC rainscreen system spandrel panels and bay panels.
Bennington Green were appointed as Project Manager, Cost Consultant and Employer’s Agent, separate appointments were made for the Design and Fire Engineering services. A Contractor was appointed on a negotiated Design & Build basis, and we assisted with the application for funding to the GLA in accordance with the Building Safety Fund requirements (BSF).
