Avon Castle is a late 19th century stone castle located in Ringwood, Hampshire. The grand castle, with medieval design influences, had been previously divided into ten generous flats. The managing agent of the block appointed Bennington Green to complete valuation for the rebuild of Avon Castle, for insurance purposes.
The work involved visiting the site to view and photograph the property in order to gain an understanding of what should be included for within the valuation. A CAD drawing was then created from the findings of the site visit which in turn was then used to individually measure the areas of differing compositions. Rates from an approved online database were then applied to the calculated areas in order to reach an accurate valuation of the entire property. Next a report was created to explain the valuation and associated provisos. This, along with the photographic schedule, a calculation sheet and a map of the site was then compiled into one document and sent to the client.
