Project Management Services

Feasibility Studies

Few organisations can afford to commit resources to a project without prior assessment of the risks involved and the likely benefits. Indeed, there are fundamental advantages to undertaking a feasibility study in terms of considering alternative options which might otherwise never be considered.

Bennington Green undertakes feasibility studies to provide a thorough and independent appraisal of the benefits and dangers associated with an identified project or business opportunity and to consider what other options might be available. The decision to implement any new project or programme must be based on a thorough analysis, and a detailed feasibility study provides the necessary information against which informed decisions can be made. We will help you to understand available options and to assess the risks and benefits before you commit any significant resources.

Project Programming

Our services cover the full spectrum of planning requirements on a project including providing tender programmes, design programmes, pre-contract planning through to full scale construction stage programmes and progress reporting.

Retrospectively, we are able to provide fully detailed forensic plans which can be used for delay analysis and the resolution of disputes. We can separately provide programme expert evidence.

Our project planning specialists are fully conversant with the most widely used software such as Primavera P6, Power Project and Microsoft Project. We are also conversant with the more widely adopted construction contracts in respect of their requirements for programming such as the NEC3/4, JCT and FIDIC.

Our services include:

  • Outline project programmes
  • Tender programmes
  • Contract programmes
  • Monthly update programmes
  • Impacted event programmes
  • Critical path analysis and extensions of time
  • Forensic analysis of programmes including time impact analysis
  • Training in programming techniques
Contract Administration

Bennington Green have developed a comprehensive set of tried and tested client-focused management procedures which can be specifically tailored to meet the needs of individual projects irrespective of their size or complexity. The procedures provide a structured framework for the management of a project on behalf of a client from inception to completion through each of the recognised phases of a project.

Bennington Green is able to undertake Contract Administration under any of the commonly used contracts to ensure that the contract terms are administered impartially.

The role of the Contract Administrator is limited to the obligations of the respective contract and hence only comes about post award of the contract, however, generally, most of our instructions would be considered to include:

  • Procurement & Negotiation with a preferred contractor
  • Award of the Contract (drafting of the Contract)
  • Provision of information between the stakeholders
  • Certification of interim and final valuations
  • Issuing Instructions
  • Assessment and Certification of any extension of time awards
  • Chairing project meetings
  • Reviewing the progress of the works and preparing reports for the client.
  • Undertaking periodic inspections (generally at least weekly)
  • Monitoring commissioning and inspections.
  • Arranging handover.
  • Certifying practical completion.
  • Issuing the certificate of making good defects.
  • Agreeing the final account.

Good administration of the contract is intrinsically linked to the successful delivery of the project and maintaining control of project finances greatly influences our client’s evaluation of project success. We have the expertise to undertake good contract administration to ensure that the project delivers the employers requirements as cost effectively as possible.

Employers Agent

The term Employer’s Agent is used to describe the agent acting on behalf of the client as the administrator for Design & Build contracts.

At Bennington Green we offer this service within the Project Management division.  Our project managers are independently appointed by the client and have the necessary experience to be fully involved from conception to completion of the project.

In addition to acting as the Employers Agent, we also carry out pre contract services, such as co-ordinating the tender process, co-ordinating the novation of consultants, collating contract documents for execution, implementing change procedures and any other requirements pre-contract.

Post contract our Employer’s Agent role will include:

  • Issuing instructions.
  • Co-ordinating the review of information prepared by the contractor.
  • Considering items submitted by the contractor for ‘approval’, as required by the Employer’s Requirements.
  • Managing change control procedures.
  • Reviewing the progress of the works and preparing reports for the client.
  • Validating or certifying
  • Monitoring commissioning and inspections.
  • Arranging handover.
  • Certifying practical completion.
  • Issuing the certificate of making good defects.
  • Agreeing the final account.
