Aleksandra Wyrzucka

Finance Assistant

Aleksandra joined Bennington Green in 2024 following completion of her Level 2 AAT Qualification.

Aleksandra provides support with data entry, credit control and data analysis to support the finance function of the business.

Aleksandra is currently studying towards her AAT Level 3 qualification.

Alex Alderton BSc (HONS)

Chartered Building Surveyor

Alex joined Bennington Green in 2023. As a Surveyor he has a wealth of experience working across the healthcare, education and domestic sectors and has successfully delivered a variety of roles from small works and larger commerical projects.

He has experience in Design and Specification, CA/EA work and defect analysis.

Damon Green BSc, MRICS, MIAS

Consultant – Senior Chartered Building Surveyor

Damon originally founded Bennington Green Associates in 1992 and developed an extremely successful business, which he continues to be an active part of by working as a Consultant for the company.

A Chartered Building Surveyor with over forty years’ experience working within the sector, he is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Surveying. He is one of the top-rated Building Surveyors, having gained considerable experience on the full range of surveying duties including work to commercial, industrial, leisure, residential and education buildings.

He is active within the industry, having served on the Wessex Branch Chartered Associate Building Engineers (CABE) Committee since 1988, being appointed Chairman between 1990 and 1992. He is considered an expert in Building Surveying matters and has provided evidence during judicial proceedings on many occasions.

Danielle Bish BA(Hons) Msc

Building Surveyor

Danielle joined Bennington Green in 2019 after graduating from the University College of Estate Management with a Masters Degree in Building Surveying, achieving a Distinction. Danielle has a keen interest in the built environment, having previously spent five years working at a leading Estate Agency in the Isle of Purbeck, and is now working towards achieving Chartered status with the RICS.

She undertakes a variety of instructions, including Project Management, Defect Analysis and Maintenance Plans.

Darren Wilkes-Brough MCIOB, MAPM

Associate Director

Darren joined Bennington Green in 2023 to head up the Major Project Management team. He is Chartered Senior Project Manager with a strong design management and delivery background, with over 25 years’ experience in the infrastructure and property sectors, working for both Clients and Contractors.

He has a proven track record of managing teams of professional personnel and delivering projects in live environments for blue-chip clients. His strong management skills are underpinned by sound technical construction knowledge gained from a trade background and interpersonal, relationship and stakeholder management skills gained from client-side roles over the last two decades. With his extensive knowledge of the construction industry, he ensures we offer best quality solutions to our clients.

David Bath

Assisant Quantity Surveyor

David joined Bennington Green in summer of 2024 as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, he is currently working towards completing his BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying studying part time at the University of Portsmouth. David, upon completing his academic studies aims to sit the RICS assessment to become a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.

David brings a diverse range of experience, having worked on a variety of projects that encompass everything from small subcontract estimations and procurement to large-scale commercial developments. His experience includes projects involving modular building installations, industrial unit construction, and refurbishments.

Edem Brampah MCIOB AssocRICS ICWCI

Clerk of Works

Edem is a proactive and energetic construction quality inspector with a consistent track record learnt from over 15 years working on different build projects. He joined the Bennington Green team in 2022 in the Clerk of Works role.

He has great experience of managing various construction projects, and working with all construction professionals, Project Managers and the Site Managerial team and various construction duties with sound knowledge of building regulations and methodologies. Conversant in best business practices that improve efficiency, reduce operating costs whilst increasing productivity, all to tight time scales and within budget.

Elizabeth Slattery

Solicitor

Elizabeth joined Bennington Green in 2014 to assist with the development and growth of the legal and contractual services to the company’s clients.

She is also a Consultant at Corbett & Co International Construction Lawyers, where she has worked on several multi-million-pound international construction disputes arising under FIDIC Contracts on projects in Eastern Europe which have involved both DRB procedures and ICC arbitration. Prior to joining Corbett & Co in 2008, Liz’s background was in domestic construction disputes.

Harriet Butterfield

Barrister

Harriet is a practicing Barrister of 20 years call. She began her career in private practice at the criminal Bar, she moved in-house and have spent over 15 years advising and representing a variety of clients in construction and engineering, energy and utilities on the full breadth of transactional and contentious matters.

Harriet’s clients in the construction sector include employer and contractor organisation’s in the residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. When the need arises, she has represented numerous clients in all forums of ADR including mediation and conciliation. Harriet has represented clients in over 250 adjudications and 3 arbitrations.

Harry Smit BSc (Hons) MSc

Building Surveyor

Harry joined the team at Bennington Green in 2018 after completing a Masters degree in Building Surveying at the University College of Estate Management. He is currently working towards his APC to achieve Chartered status with RICS.

He undertakes surveys of residential and commercial properties for the production of Building Surveys, Schedules of Condition, Insurance Reinstatement Cost Assessments and Planned Maintenance Schedules, with a particular interest in defect analysis and rectification work. He is client-focused and enjoys undertaking design and specification work for planning applications and residential construction projects.

HUseyin Tahir

Clerk of Works

Huseyin brings over 20 years of experience in operational and management roles within the construction industry, having worked as both a Site Manager and a Clerk of Works. His extensive experience in these roles has given him a deep understanding of the complexities of construction projects.

As a Clerk of Works, Huseyin's main responsibility is to oversee and ensure that the work carried out by contractors meets the client's standards, specifications, and schedules. He rigorously monitors the quality of materials, workmanship, and compliance with regulations to ensure that the project is completed to the highest standards and offers value for money.

His expertise also extends to planning and delivering new build and refurbishment projects, managing contractors, and leading individuals from a variety of trades. With his technical knowledge, Huseyin is adept at solving challenges, ensuring that projects run smoothly, and delivering successful outcomes for clients.

Jack Thompson-Smith BSc (Hons) MRICS

Senior Chartered Building Surveyor

Jack first worked at Bennington Green while doing his sandwich placement during his studies back in 2007. We were delighted when he came back to us in 2019 having spent 10 years working as a Building Surveyor in central London and having gained his chartered membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

His experience spans multiple sectors and roles, from which he has developed a broad knowledge of both construction and the wider industry, allowing him to adapt to the varied role of a Building Surveyor for the private and public sector clients with a particular interest in historic buildings.

Jackie Dunn

Consultant

Jackie joined Bennington Green as a Consultant in 2024. Jackie is a details-focused project manager with over 20 years’ experience delivering new build, fire safety, and refurbishment projects.

Jackie has significant experience leading projects focused on achieving high standards of fire safety in existing developments, including cladding remediation in higher-risk residential buildings. Jackie has completed CIOB Level 6 Certificate in Fire Safety for Construction and has good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Fire Safety (England) Regulations (2022).

Joanne Brickell

Executive Assistant

Jo is an experienced Executive Assistant with a strong background in providing high-level support to senior executives. With excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, Jo ensures smooth daily operations for the Partners, coordinates diaries, and handles confidential information with discretion. Passionate about efficiency and contributing to team success, Jo is dedicated to creating an organised and productive work environment.

Jordan Bull BSc (Hons)

Building Surveyor

Jordan joined Bennington Green in 2023 after working for several years within the residential architectural sector and surveying services. He is currently working towards the RICS APC end point assessment.

Jordan has experience in planning, building regulations, insurance rebuild costs, party wall matters and inspections for residential properties. His keen eye for detail and hands on approach has enabled him to gain a wealth of experience on varying types of properties.

Joshua Gamston BSC (HONS)

Building Surveyor

Joshua joined the Bennington Green team in 2023 as a Graduate Building Surveyor, while he completes his degree in Building Surveying through the University College of Estate Management.

He is enthusiastic and keen to be involved in projects across all areas of expertise, including undertaking site visits and producing reports. He is looking forward to gaining more responsibility in projects and developing his skills further.

Joshua Saunders BSc (Hons)

Building Surveyor

Joshua joined Bennington Green in 2022 after working within a local authority while undertaking a Degree Apprenticeship in Building Surveying. He has a keen interest in the built environment and is currently working towards achieving his Chartered status with the RICS.

Joshua has excellent experience in designing and delivering planned maintenance projects within the local authority property sector, acting as Principal Designer and Contract Administrator. Previously he worked within the property team at Hampshire County Council, focusing on the education portfolio, from maintenance projects to large-scale capital works schemes.

Judith Cutler

Office Administrator

Judith is an organised and detail-oriented office administrator with a passion for improving efficiency by providing high level administrative support to the team.

With over 30 years experience, Judith has extensive administration experience and brings a wealth of skill and knowledge having worked previously for Solicitors and Estate Agents.

Karl Grover BSc (Hons) MCIOB MRICS

Associate Director

Karl joined Bennington Green in 2024 as Associate Director. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the Building Surveying team, with over 30 years’ post graduate experience working across private and public sectors.

Previously Karl had successfully set up KPG Associates, a Chartered Building Surveying practice servicing the Thames Valley area, which has now merged with Bennington Green. He has a proven track record within the commercial, local authority, domestic, development, ecclesiastical and education sectors, allowing him to easily adapt to the varied role of Building Surveyor. As a Chartered Member of both the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) he always acts professionally and has the ability to complete his role to the highest standard.

Keith Toffoletti

Business Management System Developer

Keith has been working with Bennington Green since 2005, heading up the IT systems for the business. His specialises in writing and building bespoke IT solutions to support the growth of the business and the range of services we can offer.

Through the implementation of his new Business Management systems we have been able to streamline the business, support the team and offer a more flexible way of working.

Keith Kirkwood BSc, FCIArb, FCInstCES

Consultant

Keith is a well-respected figure with over 35 years’ experience in the building and civil engineering industries. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Institution of Arbitrators and the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Institute of Directors.

Keith started his career with John Laing, one of the UK’s largest contractors and has since worked with contractors, subcontractors and clients as a consultant. He founded Schofield Lothian in 1986 and developed it into a £14million turnover company, making it one of the top 10 UK Quantity Surveying Companies prior to selling it to Accord PLC in 2002. Keith has knowledge of all areas of construction and has lectured on a variety of topics around the world. He has a proven track record of success and is an experienced businessman, negotiator, mediator, arbitrator, adjudicator and expert.

Marcus Cartwright BSc (hons)

Building Surveyor

Marcus joined Bennington Green in 2024 following more than five years’ experience working across both commercial and residential sectors in London and Sussex.

He undertakes a variety of instructions, including contract administration, defect analysis and maintenance planning, and has a particular interest in historic buildings and conservation.

Matthew Chown

Building Surveyor

Matt joined the team at Bennington Green in 2024 while working towards his RICS Chartership in Building Surveying.

Matt comes from a commercial surveying background with experience in technical due diligence, contract administration, project management and dilapidations. He has worked across a range of sectors including commercial office, industrial, retail, healthcare and education.

Matthew GriffithsMCIOB

Chartered Construction Manager / Clerk of works

Matt is a Chartered Construction Manager with a robust background in both hands-on and managerial roles within the construction industry. Beginning his career as an apprentice carpenter and joiner, Matt achieved traditional City & Guilds certification before advancing through management roles that have seen him contribute to a wide range of projects, including new build residential, high-spec bespoke homes, conservation work, listed buildings, and commercial fit-outs.

Since joining Bennington Green as a consultant in 2022, Matt has brought his deep technical knowledge and commitment to quality to a variety of projects, initially serving as Principal Contractor Site Manager on a remedial project for executive homes in Newbury. Now a full-time team member, Matt specializes in a Clerk of Works role, overseeing cladding remediation safety schemes to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act and updated Fire Safety Regulations. Alongside HNC and NVQ Level 6 qualifications in Construction Management, Matt holds SMSTS, CSCS MAP, CISRS SITS, and First Aid training, equipping him with the expertise to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality across all projects.

Michael Evans FRICS

Principal Surveyor

Michael is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has spent his entire career in private practice, he was Senior Partner in the King & Evans Partnership and, following a merger with Mursell & Company (which was acquired by Bennington Green in 2020) he became their Principal Quantity Surveyor.

He is very experienced in quantity surveying, including preliminary cost advice, advice on contractual methods, contracts and contractor selection, preparing tender documents, obtaining and negotiating tenders, cost planning, valuing construction work, administration of measured term contracts, preparing and agreeing accounts with contractors, technical auditing, assessing replacement value for insurance and with project coordination. He is also experienced in dispute resolution and has also participated in alternative dispute resolution procedures, including adjudication and mediation.

Matthew Merry BSc (Hons), MRICS

Chartered Building Surveyor Commercial Property Lead

Matthew joined Bennington Green in 2020 with 15 years of post-qualification experience, specialising in Project Management, Contract Administration, Development Monitoring and Technical due diligence.

Before joining Bennington Green he spent his career working in central London for national and multi-national property consultants, including CBRE, Malcolm Hollis and Paragon Building. He gained Chartered status in 2005 and has a broad spectrum of experience in asset sectors including commercial office, retail, leisure, healthcare, industrial, student and residential accommodation. He provides a commercial focus to the building surveying team to ensure instructions exceed client expectations by adding value and opportunity.

Mike Huband

Senior Project Manager

Mike joined Bennington Green in November 2024. He is a construction project manager dedicated to delivering high-quality, efficient, and sustainable solutions. The same commitment to excellence, our team expertly manages every phase of construction—from design to completion with a focus on quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.

Originally from a trade background, Mike brings over 30 years of experience in the built environment. Having worked as a client representative, contractor, and project management consultant, Mike’s expertise spans across multiple sectors. His diverse portfolio of work includes overseeing multi-phase housing developments in the East End of London, logistical and administrative works for government department's to the repair and conservation of historic buildings.

Mike’s deep-rooted understanding of the construction process, programme and contract management, combined with excellent interpersonal skills, ensures the successful delivery of high-quality projects. All this supported by his breadth of knowledge and leadership, reputation for efficiency, innovation, and client satisfaction.

Nigel Soloman BEng, CEng, MICE, FFPWS, MIOD

Partner

Much of Nigel’s career has been spent working for large international contractors and consultants both in the UK and overseas. Nigel’s area of specialism is Project Management, Party Wall and landlord/tenant disputes.

Having previously held board level positions both within the construction and manufacturing sectors Nigel brings significant strategic experience and leadership skills to the direction and management of Bennington Green. With a strong focus on customer service and a proactive approach to business development, Nigel along with his business partners has developed a clear vision for the future successful growth of the company.

Rebecca Smith

Office Administrator

Rebecca joined Bennington Green in April 2019 overseeing all the administrative functions in the office as Office Administrator. She is responsible for managing all aspects of coordinating office activities, client enquires and contractors and is the friendly face who welcomes our visitors into our Bournemouth office.

She brings over 20 years’ experience as an administrative professional to her role, with her varied background in multiple organisations provides a perfect foundation for providing vital administrative support to the whole team so they can focus on working with their clients.

Robert Winkley

Partner

Robert joined Bennington Green in 2017, to assist with the commercial resolution of a large civil engineering project, he is now a Director of the business. He is a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager who benefits from over 26 years of experience across a mixture of major civils, rail, highways and construction projects. His depth of knowledge and commercial awareness makes him ideally suited for lead roles on construction projects.

He has a high focus on project delivery and with his strong history of project work, he brings a very high level of professional knowledge and decisive management to any project. Robert is also highly skilled in all areas of Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, and is responsible for many of the cost plans, budget costs and NRM take offs we produce here at Bennington Green.

Russell Walton BSc (Hons), MRICS

Associate Director

Russell started with Bennington Green in 2006 on a university work placement as part of his sandwich degree course in Building Surveying at Nottingham Trent University, since this time his career has flourished. His experience of the commercial and residential sectors within private practice is extensive and he has a flare for all things technical.

The identification and rectification of building defects is one of his key areas of expertise, with experience of a broad range of construction types and roofing systems which are a particular specialism.

Ryan Greening BSc (Hons), MSc, FRICS, MCIArb, ICIOB

Partner

Ryan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Building Surveyor being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and he is also an Incorporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building. He has a First Class honours degree in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying and a Masters Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and has a particular interest in quantum evaluation and contentious construction matters.

Having started his career working with Alfred McAlpine Civil Engineering and subsequent years with various Main Contractors undertaking Civil Engineering and Building Contracts before setting up his own consultancy practice in 2006. He joined Bennington Green in 2010 to provide support to the project management, building surveying and commercial divisions and to promote and deliver the commercial and dispute resolution offering.

Ryan has undertaken various senior level assignments where he has proven invaluable to his clients leading the procurement, commercial and contractual processes of projects including pre and post construction activities.

Sam Norman BSc (Hons)

Graduate Building Surveyor

Sam joined the Bennington Green team in 2024 as a Graduate Building Surveyor following his graduation from the University of Portsmouth. Sam has a strong passion for the construction industry and the built environment, he is currently working towards his Chartered status with the RICS.

He undertakes a variety of instructions including Defect Analysis Reports, Planned Preventative Maintenance Surveys, Insurance Reinstatement Cost Assessments and Schedules of Condition. Sam is keen to develop his construction knowledge and skills, with a strong interest in historic buildings.

Sarah Vincent HNC, NVQ

Managing Surveyor

Sarah joined Bennington Green in 2023 as Managing Surveyor, she is a qualified Quantity Surveyor and holds a HNC in Construction Management. She began her career with the Bourne Group as a trainee and worked up through the company from an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to finally becoming Commercial Manager.

Sarah has a great wealth of experience from working in all divisions and utilising various forms of Building Contract, which she is able to use to provide support to the Project Management and Commercial functions of the business.

Shawnie Payne

Major Works & Building Safety Administrator

Shawnie is a seasoned administrator with over 20 years’ experience providing support to upper-level management across the private and public sectors in Bermuda, New York, and the UK. She joined Bennington Green in April of 2024 and is responsible for assisting the major works team with the administrative tasks essential for the smooth execution of the large projects in our portfolio. With the new building safety regulations coming into effect earlier this year we have received an influx of requests for our services to assist with the applications and reports required. Utilising her broad communication skills, Shawnie liaises with clients on a daily basis whilst providing essential support to the team, ensuring the regulation rules are adhered to throughout the application and reporting process.

With her upbeat, positive attitude and vibrant personality, Shawnie has quickly become an integral part of the Bennington Green team.

Sophia O'Grady

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Sophia joined Bennington Green in 2024 having worked for both national and local housing developers whilst completing her degree in Quantity Surveying at the University College of Estate Management. Sophia has a plethora of experience from working within different sectors including residential, commercial, health care and leisure from both main contractor and client side.

She is enthusiastic to be involved in the different projects and is looking forward to gaining more responsibility in projects and developing her skills further.

Tom Fewings

Charterd Building Surveyor

Tom joined Bennington Green in 2024 as a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor.

He brings extensive experience in the residential and education sectors, with a keen interest in the built environment successfully managing a range of projects from minor works to larger endeavours. His expertise includes Design and Specification, Contract Administration, Maintenance Plans and Defect Analysis.

Victoria Jones MInstLM, CMgr, MCMI

Partner

Victoria joined Bennington Green in 2014, she is a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute she has brought a commercial drive to the business with a solution focused approach.

She ensures that the business run seamlessly and efficiently, enabling the team to deliver an exceptional service to our clients. She has implemented many positive changes to the company, with new systems including its bespoke Business Management System, implementation and integration of Xero and the document management system. With a passion for delivering a first-class service to our clients, she thrives on continuously improving our operations and staff development.
